Spring Break Must Haves

Spring Break Must Haves

It’s almost that time again and we’ve got you covered for any destination! Let’s get that suitcase out and start making your packing list! If you have any reservations about taking a trip this season, just remember…Southern Living has recently reported that taking a trip with your best gal pals can improve your overall mental and physical well-being. It can refresh you when you're burnt out on work, plus give you quality time with the people who you love most. Forbes reports that women who take advantage of vacation time are less tense, depressed or tired, and have even shown to be happier with their spouse.

Looking back, travel was so easy and carefree when we were young. We picked a destination and our parents handled the rest! I don’t know who decided it was a good idea to grow up?! But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered on ALL the Spring Break necessities, and more! While we know you are packing your bags, don’t forget about things, such as, reservations to your favorite dinner spot or excursions at your destination. I used to think my mom was crazy as she loaded up her 30 bags into the car, but it never failed, we always had what we needed AND THEN SOME!!

Let us help you pack your bags while you count down the days to relaxation! Thanks to this ultimate spring break must haves checklist, you don’t have to stress what to take on top of your daily routines.

Toiletries

Depending on how you plan to travel, plane or car, toiletries can be tricky. You want to make sure that you pack all of the necessities, without overdoing it by weighing down your luggage or taking up valuable room in your suitcase. Just remember…wherever you are traveling, probably has a convenience store for items that were missed while packing, so don;t stress it too much.

If you are flying and plan on putting your toiletries in your carry-on bag, remember the TSA’s 3-1-1 rule. All liquids, creams, gels, pastes, and aerosols must be in 3.4-ounce bottles or tubes inside a one-quart-sized clear, zipper bag. You are only allowed one bag per person. If you have products in larger bottles or tubes or need to carry more than you can fit in a single quart-size bag, your toiletries will have to go in your checked luggage.

To keep it simple, try packing travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, moisturizer, deodorant, and face wash. Don’t forget chapstick! Stick to the basics for makeup, and bring things like dry shampoo, hairspray, and feminine hygiene products only if you use them regularly or will need them during your trip.

Of course, your hairbrush, some hair ties, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Don’t forget to pack enough prescription medications for the duration of your stay. A basic first aid kit and medicines like Advil and Tylenol are not a bad idea, either.

Beach Bag

If your destination involves a beach or some fun in the sun at a resort, don’t forget a cute bag to carry all of your must-haves in. You may need a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, a water bottle, headphones, your favorite book or magazine, and YOUR WALLET!

MOM Essentials

If you are spending time near the water, a water-proof bag for your electronics is great, as well as a way to recharge. My family always packed trash bags and grocery bags to stash our wet clothes in. We also had a million clothespins so that we could hang up our wet towels to dry. Ziplock bags of ALL SIZES…just trust me on this one, you never know. If you are taking little ones with you, don't forget the fun beach and sand toys, a tent or umbrella for shade, and BABY POWDER. If possible, I recommend taking them with you instead of paying the outrageous destination prices when you arrive. I know you're thinking…BABY POWDER?!? If you're traveling to a sandy destination, a little puff of baby powder will remove all of the sand from your hands and face so you can stick your hands in your bag of chips or bowl of fruit and leave it SAND FREE! And last but not least, floats and blow up toys!
